Hello! I'm Rich Roksiewicz, Web Developer based in Baltimore, Maryland.

I've been building websites since summer 2014. I started off using WYSIWYG builders such as WiX and Wordpress but began desiring to learn more. I worked as an E-Commerce Administrator by day and a student by night addicted to soaking in as much as I could from both free and paid resources. Fast forward to today, I am now a freelance web developer who loves to write code and continue learning!

I am also a movie junkie, comic book collector, and happy single father who is self-motivated to be the best dad and developer I can be.

I am well versed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Command Line, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, and Wordpress. Lately I've been learning Shopify development and have recently earned the Shopify Theme Development certification on their site. Also just passed another 3 month course on Wordpress development. To help see my progress, check out my event timeline below.

I was asked to take over the maintenance responsibilities for our church and school’s websites. One was built in Joomla and the other in Adobe Muse. I had no idea about anything web related at the time but I learned what I could to get by. 01

After struggling with the current platforms of the church/school sites, I requested to rebuild both in WiX and the request was approved. So I learned and rebuilt both with much success. 02

After learning that I enjoyed web building, I began learning code from the free lessons at Codecademy.com but only when work was slow. I learned more as a hobby than necessity. 03

I began building more sites in WiX for friends. Some I received donations as a thank you from but the majority was for free. 04

I picked up my Codecademy lessons more seriously due to the need for more income and learning the limitations to the current CMS platforms. 05

Was offered the opportunity to use my code skills at my company to manipulate a paid template within Hubspot. After about 3 months, my first site using code was complete. 06

After using my code skills on my first big project, I desired to perfect them. So I took a Codecademy Intensive Course (Pro at the time). A 3 month course on building static websites. 07

As I became more comfortable with my skills, I started putting them to further use by breaking and customizing my company’s commerce platform to provide a much better visual experience for our customers. This was a first for our company in many aspects. 08

To satisfy my craving to learn more, I began searching and absorbing as much knowledge as I could from other free and paid online courses. I took some on udemy.com, lynda.com, skillshare.com, and Codecademy.com. Some were duds and some were very helpful. 09

I received a promotion at my company as their first Jr. Front-End Web Developer. The very next day, I began learning the ins and outs of Wordpress and how to customize them to our clients’ liking. Another first for our company apart from outsourcing. 10
